Ethan & Chris Martin

Last night Tye and I were eating dinner and had Ethan in his jumperoo contraption. He was playing and suddenly turned around to the television. Tye and I were watching an interview with Chris Martin, who is the lead singer of Coldplay, for you uncool out of the loop people! :-) Well everytime Chris Martin would appear on the screen Ethan would light up and smile so big. He even laughed at him. I'm not sure if it was Chris Martin's beautiful blue eyes or his enticing accent or his music that made Ethan happy. However, I think the next time Coldplay comes to VB, Ethan will be tagging along with Tye and I to go see his new favorite pal Chris Martin.

Ethan & Rice Cereal

My little baby finally ate something other than my milk this week! He has been waking up at night, which is unlike him, so I thought he might need a little bit of cereal on his tummy at night. I got it all mixed up ready to feed him and he LOVED it! Of course half of it ended up on his face or bib, but he enjoyed eating it! He also rolled over for the first time this week! He is just growing so quickly. Ethan is 5 months old. So no funny story this time, just bragging about my little one.

A Frog?!?

Last week I had to make a couple of doctor's appointments. Ethan had just gone down for his nap and I needed to pump (I am breast-feeding...fyi) so I thought I would double task. Let me back up a little bit and fill you in on my breast pump. It makes a loud noise every time it pumps! It kind of sounds like someone is winding something up and like an animal is dying! haha Anyways, I started pumping and them proceeded to call my doctor. The receptionist was helping me find a date to come in for a check-up and I guess she heard my pump in the background. She proceeded to ask me what in the world that noise was? I hesitated for a second not knowing exactly what to tell her. Then I decided I will tell her the TRUTH! I said " Well if you must know it's my breast pump!" The woman became so embarrassed she could hardly form a sentence and when she did she said "I thought it was a FROG." She went on to ask me not to tell the doctor about her question and apologized a hundred times. I thought it was pretty funny that she ended up being the one so embarrassed! I guess it does sound like a frog, but why would I have a frog chilling by the phone?

Ethan's Big Break

I'm sure everyone has read the older post about Ethan and the Miracle Blanket. Well Miracle Blanket has used part of his video for their ad. Too funny! My little man is going Hollywood!

Insert Foot in Mouth

Ethan and I went on our weekly grocery shopping trip yesterday. Ethan loves looking at all the colors and shapes at the grocery store so we always have a great time there. We were wrapping up our trip and getting checked out so I was paying attention to the cashier. When I turned back around to look at Ethan he almost had his whole foot in his mouth! He was chopping down on his toes and having the time of his life. He had the cashier, bagger, customer behind me, the cashier in the next aisle and me laughing out loud! It was the first time he was able to get his toes let alone his whole foot in his mouth. If he is anything like his Mommy that won't be the last time he is going to need to insert his foot in his mouth! :-)

The Itsy Bitsy Spider cures ALL

Tye and I took Ethan for his 4 month check-up this week. When it came time for his two shots we had to hold his arms and try to distract him. He was fine until the second shot and he started to wail. He was crying so hard he couldn't even get a cry out. Poor little guy! So...I picked him up and started singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider and he went from hysterically crying to LAUGHING! I swear he loves that song! Tye and I were coming out of the doctor's office laughing so hard, I'm sure everyone thought we were great parents. ha. Ethan will stop crying anytime I start singing that song. I sing to him in the car when he is mad that he is in the car seat, I sing it to him when he is tired and needs a nap and I sing it when he's happy and wants to play. I need to record it so my voice doesn't give out.

Baby Ethan the Actor!

Tye and I purchased a blanket called the Miracle Blanket before Ethan was born. It had rave reviews and supposedly calmed a baby down in seconds so he could get a good night's sleep. Well we started using it as soon as we got home from the hospital and it has been a life saver! He loves it! He will be crying because he is so tired and we will wrap him up in his blanket and he will stop crying immediately. The other day, Tye's mother was on the Miracle Blanket website and saw that if you make a video of your child being calmed down by being wrapped in the blanket they will send you a check for $150. She gave us a call yesterday and told us what she had read and we decided to tape the next time we put him down for a nap. Well it worked and Ethan is now getting a check for $150 in the mail. We even received an email from their customer service..."Wow! That is a great one! I love the transition from a blanket that didn't
work! Excellent. "-Mike.

So here is the much anticipated video...Thanks Ethan!
